Davidoff WSC LH Petit Panetela 5'S Tin
For this cigar for the darker hours of the day, Davidoff selected a shiny and oily Ecuador wrapper in a beautiful dark chocolate colour. The two Nicaraguan filler tobaccos grown in the mineral-rich volcanic soils of Condega and Estelí add spiciness and depth of character to the cigars. Especially the Nicaraguan Condega visus tobacco, which was cask-aged in original Scottish first fill single malt whisky casks gives the cigar its mysterious sweetness. An intense multi-origin blend with a full body and robust flavours. The Petit Panetela delights with that same signature complexity in taste as the long-fillers of the line.
The Davidoff Winston Churchill «The Late Hour Series» Petit Panetela is ideally paired with a heavy and spicy rum that is not too sweet, as the cigar needs to be enjoyed with a beverage which enhances its elaborate character.
Cigars need:
Humidity: ~72%
Temperature: ~22°C (72°F)
Too dry → burns fast, harsh
Too wet → hard to light, mold risk
Best ways to store cigars
1. Humidor (best option)
A humidor is a sealed box designed for cigars.
How to use it:
Season the humidor first (important!)
Fill the humidification device with distilled water
Keep cigars inside, lid closed
Pros:
✔ Best flavor preservation
✔ Long-term storage
✔ Looks classy
2. Ziplock + humidity pack (good short-term option)
Perfect if you don’t have a humidor.
How:
Put cigars in a ziplock bag
Add a 65% or 69% humidity pack
Seal it and keep it in a cool, dark place
Pros:
✔ Cheap
✔ Works for days to weeks
❌ Not ideal long-term
3. Temporary storage (very short-term)
If you’re smoking soon (same day or next day):
Wrap the cigar in cellophane
Store it away from heat and sunlight
This is a stopgap, not a real solution.
1. Cut the head
Cut the closed end (the head) with a cigar cutter.
Just enough to open the draw—don’t cut too deep.
2. Light the cigar
Use a torch.
Holding the cigar at a 45-degree angle, toast the foot (open end) by rotating it near the flame, then puff gently until it’s evenly lit.
3. Puff slowly (don’t inhale)
Draw the smoke into your mouth only, then exhale.
Take a puff about every 30–60 seconds to keep it cool and flavorful.
4. Let the ash build
Don’t flick it constantly. Let the ash form, then tap it off gently when it’s ready.
5. If you finish the cigar
Set it in an ashtray and let it go out on its own.
Don’t stub it like a cigarette.
6. If you do NOT finish the cigar (Highly NOT recommended)
Let the cigar cool completely.
Cut off about 1 inch past the lit/burned area.
This removes the section affected by stale smoke and tar.
Store it separately if you plan to relight it later.
7. Relighting later (optional)
Expect the flavor to be a bit harsher than a fresh cigar.
Light it the same way as before, rotating for an even burn.
